      The observance:  begins at 4:00 P.M.

 

 

Something new this year:

 The battle between Gwynn ap Nudd (king of the other world) and Gwythyr (King of the upper world) for the love and affections of Creiddylad

The two combatants represent the polarities of dark and light and as such are the personification of the Holly King/Oak King who fight for rulership of the winter and summer halves of the Celtic year. 

 

 

 

         The sun has returned from the winter's 

            dark...Dance, celebrate!
